PSAC Members Rally in Front of Local MP’s Office Asking to Fix Phoenix Pay System
CHARLOTTETOWN, PE –PSAC members who were meeting in Charlottetown, PE held an impromptu demo in front of the office of the local Member of Parliament (MP), Sean Casey, to demonstrate their frustration in regards to the broken phoenix pay system.
PSAC’s Regional Executive Vice-President, Jeannie Baldwin, explains the reason why they rallied in front of the MP’s office: “We have a message for Mr. Casey and his liberal colleagues: fix the phoenix pay system now! This is a government issue. Imagine, working for the Government of Canada and not getting paid on time and accurately. In the meantime, managers are receiving bonuses! This is totally unacceptable.”
Various PSAC members shared their personal stories ranging from not getting paid for months at a time, not receiving acting pay and to this day not getting paid accurately.
