The City Hall Employees Association (CHEA) is comprised of more than 200 members. Their members work at the following: Moncton City Hall, Botsford Fire Station, Operations Center, Resurgo Place, Moncton Coliseum, Magnetic Hill Zoo, RCMP Head Quarter and the 911 Dispatch Center in Dieppe.
Their tasks vary from administrative tasks, technical duties, data entry, timekeeping, first point of contact to gather essential information from callers and dispatch the appropriate first responders to the scene, working with animals, public reception, inquiries, coordinating events, working with community group, etc.
In their opinion, the main advantage of being a union member is job security and having a local executive that works for and with the members on work related issues and ensuring that their rights in the workplace are protected.
They also have a very active social committee that organizes outings/events to encourage members to socialize together outside of the office.
