Dear Mr. Fillmore

I’m writing to you as a follow-up to our successful campaign to protect jobs at CFB Greenwood.

As a public sector union, we know and understand the value of public sector jobs in local communities. That’s why we knew we had to fight to protect these seven jobs.  We had to do it for our members but also for the local community. Seven public service jobs in Greenwood makes a significant difference on so many levels.

Our campaign demonstrated that anything is possible when various groups, politicians and communities work hand in hand for a common cause. Although we have been successful, we remain vigilant and will keep apprised of the situation in order to ensure that contracting out never becomes an option.

Thank you, Andy, for your support and collaboration on this important matter. Although these members didn’t reside in your riding, you took the time to meet with myself and Bill Kroeger and advocated your fellow MP’s to ensure these jobs were protected. For that, I am truly grateful.

Sincerely,

Colleen Coffey
