The impacts of COVID-19 on the LGBTQ2+ members and our communities makes it a trying time. Many of us look forward every year to celebrate our achievements and fight for more equality. This year, we will have to do it differently, because we simply cannot cancel or skip pride.
Although many pride parades and festivals are cancelled, a lot of celebrations and various activities will be taking place virtually. For example, in New Brunswick, regional pride organizations have teamed up in order to offer Pride New Brunswick. They are rising above the challenge and ensuring that we have a way to celebrate and continue to advocate on behalf of our community.
Please watch for notices of events as they unfold in the Atlantic region. I am wishing our LGBTQ2+ members and our allies a very happy and joyous pride season.
