Almost 70 members from across the region attended the AtlanticSchoolheld from May 23rd to 27th, 2012in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.
This year, the theme was ‘Protecting Members’ Rights!’ with the focus being on Advanced Representation, Duty to Accommodate and Mental Health in the workplace.
The newly elected Public Service Alliance of Canada National President, Robyn Benson, joined our group along with participants from the Canadian Labour Congress and activist Brigette DePape. The Harper government’s attacks on public services and programs were at the centre of everyone’s attention.
Participants also marched down to Peter MacKay’s office and delivered his ‘affected letter’ advising the Minister that his services might no longer be needed.
