Let’s be honest. The sea will always be an integral part of our heritage in Newfoundland and Labrador, but in today’s world, the air is how most of us travel to and from our beautiful island home.

The following text is from an article featured on the VOCM website:

The Public Service Alliance of Canada says it is willing to go back to the table at any time to resolve a labour dispute at St. John's International Airport.  Yesterday the Airport Authority accused the union of not being willing to negotiate, and of making reckless statements.  Union spokesperson Chris Bussey says they're willing to sit down with the Airport Authority at any time.

Spirits were high as Chris Aylward, PSAC National Vice-President, marched alongside the members through St. John's Airport.  They visited the corporate offices, but unfortunately the management team was not in! Jeannie Baldwin, Regional Executive Vice-President Atlantic, sent a message to the employer that "we bargain on our feet and not on our knees".  Lana Payne was proud to stand in solidarity with an announcement that the NL Federation of Labour will be cancelling their upcoming Convention due to the airport strike.
