On behalf of the PSAC Social Justice Fund Anti Poverty initiative, we were proud to present a cheque in the amount of $2,000 to the Ecology Action Centre ‘Our Food Project’. In the photo: Colleen Coffey, REVP and Marla MacLeod & Satya Ramen from the Ecology Action Centre.

PSAC members took part in a lunch organized by Karen Ludwig & Scott Brison. The members had one message to the MPs: #FixPhoenix (In the photos: Carol Osborne, Marc Blanchard, Darlene Bembridge, Ryan Hall and Sheila Gidney)

PSAC members met with Wayne Easter, MP for Malpeque, to discuss Phoenix and Treasury Board Bargaining. (Wayne Easter, Heather Ford, Michelle Neill and Les Smith. Brian Watts also participated but he was the cameraman.)

Congratulations to PSAC members employed by the Halifax Transition House Association – Bryony House (PSAC-DCL Local 80022) who have ratified their new collective agreement! The new agreement will expire in March 2019 and contained economic increases for 2017, 2018 and 2019. They also negotiated other improvements in regard to staff training and development, paid holidays, hours of work and two days bereavement leave for relief workers who become bereaved while on a shift. Once again, congratulations to the bargaining team and the membership!

We are writing on behalf of Atlantic Council to all non-treasury board (non-TB) and separate employer members of the PSAC who want their voices heard on the regional council.

The non-TB / separate employer portfolio is very diverse, and its members face unique challenges as they are not subject to some of the benefits of being included under the umbrella of the Treasury Board, or, in the case of separately employed members, even under the Federal Government as a whole.
