With the recent change in government, we as members of the Public Service were given the gift of hope. Hope that we might finally see a reinvestment in public services and also a new respect for the work we do that has been missing for the last ten years.
With the Christmas season fast approaching (and also the cold weather) what better time to share our feelings of optimism with some people in our community who could use a little hope themselves.
In that spirit and as its first major initiative the soon to be officially formed Area Council for Saint John and Area, an area extending from Saint John through to St. Stephen, has contacted two homeless shelters in Saint John to provide a little hope to the people that rely on those shelters.
This drive will go on until December 17th. If you are in the Saint John Area please help if you can. If you're not, maybe you can get inspired by this awesome initiative and organize something in your region !
