Despite all the magic of social media, letters still pack a serious punch. A letter to the editor, to an MP, to your municipal councilor can make important inroads. PSAC members know more than almost anyone about the public services we provide, and we are best equipped to speak up and write up when these services are under attack.

Dear Mr. Fraser,
I’m writing to you as a follow-up to our successful campaign to protect jobs at CFB Greenwood.
As a public sector union, we know and understand the value of public sector jobs in local communities. That’s why we knew we had to fight to protect these seven jobs. We had to do it for our members but also for the local community. Seven public service jobs in Greenwood makes a significant difference on so many levels.
Our campaign demonstrated that anything is possible when various groups, politicians and communities work hand in hand for a common cause. Although we have been successful, we remain vigilant and will keep apprised of the situation in order to ensure that contracting out never becomes an option.
Thank you, Colin, for your support and collaboration on this important matter.
Sincerely,
Colleen Coffey
