Public servants work proudly on behalf of Canadians. The government claims to honor this work on occasions such as National Public Service Week, while simultaneously cutting public services, slashing thousands of jobs, and attacking collective bargaining rights, health and safety protections and retirement.

As per the Public Service Labour Relations Act, CRA filed for a Public Interest Conciliation (PIC) earlier this year following the breakdown of mediation talks. Since that time, we have submitted our list of outstanding issues , named our representative for the Public Interest Commission (PIC) and waited for the PIC Chair to be named and to set hearing dates.

PSAC members working for the Canadian Food Inspection Agency ratified a new collective agreement with their employer today. Members voted using a new e-voting system for the first time.

In the face of the unimaginable horror of the shooting in Moncton, PSAC would like to express solidarity with and sympathy for the city’s residents and especially family and friends of the three RCMP officers killed and two injured in the line of duty.
