Search and Rescue Aircraft Maintainers to Protest at IMP Group International Inc’s Head Office

HALIFAX, NS – On February 7, members of the Union of National Defence Employees (UNDE) local 90120, a Component of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC), who are employed by IMP Group International Inc. (IMP) will be organizing a demo in front of the company’s head office.  The purpose of the demo is to put pressure on decision makers to bring significant improvements at the bargaining table.

The collective agreement for the 85 employees who work in Gander, NL and Comox, BC expired on June 30, 2015.  The main issues focus around fixing the wage gap, improving sick leave, maintaining the current 40-hour work schedule and fairly assigning the work.

The PSAC members provide valuable work in ensuring that search and rescue aircrafts are well maintained and safe to be used in rescue missions.  Without their work, the safety of the aircrafts and its missions would be in jeopardy.  The union will be running a billboard ad campaign emphasizing the importance of the work provided by these members.  The billboards will be located on Joseph Howe Drive near IMP’s head office.

PSAC Demo

WHEN: Tuesday, February 7 from 11:45 am to 12:30 pm.
WHERE: IMP Group International Inc., 2651 Joseph Howe Drive, Halifax, NS.
WHY: Put pressure on IMP’s decision makers to bring significant improvement at the bargaining table.
