Union demonstrates with veterans to save local Veterans Affairs office

CORNER BROOK, NL - Veterans in Corner Brook and across the country are mobilizing to stop the closure of the nine Veterans Affairs offices they rely on for face-to-face services. Supporting them in Corner Brook is a chorus of community members, local organizations, Veterans Affairs Canada workers, unions, and municipal government.

Branch 13 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a rally at 12 noon, Thursday, November 7, 2013 in Corner Brook.  Yvan Thauvette, National President of PSAC’s Union of Veterans Affairs Employees and Jeannie Baldwin, PSAC Regional Executive Vice-President will speak on behalf of the front line workers who deliver services to veterans at these offices.
