JOHN’S, NL –Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) National President Robyn Benson will join PSAC members to rally participation in the general federal election.

Are you passionate about standing up for unions and workers’ rights?  Do you believe in fairness, social justice and human rights?  Are you active in your union and interested in deepening your activist knowledge and skills? The Union Development Program (UDP) is an opportunity for you to prepare yourself to assume leadership roles in your union and in the broader labour and social justice movements.

Sisters and Brothers,    This is to let you know that our National President, Robyn Benson, will be hosting a telephone town hall on the federal elections.    When: Tuesday, September 29, 7:30 p.m. ATL, 8:00 p.m. NL (Bilingual)   

Our tour of the Atlantic provinces is now complete and most Stewards and Local Presidents have received their toolkit.  This is where we will be adding updated content for your toolkit.

Labour Day is Monday, September 7, 2015.  The official event listing for the Atlantic Region can be found on the Canadian Labour Congress website.     Commencing August 31st, PSAC-Atlantic will be airing radio ads to commemorate this important day.  These radio ads will run in each province and can be found below.   Wishing you all a safe and enjoyable Labour Day!

New Brunswick   Province-wide: Members of UEW 60067 put together packages of election issue information from PSAC and distributed it to their members.    Dorchester: Members of USGE 60020 & 60128 organized a demo during their lunch break.   Gagetown: Members of UNDE 60303 organized a bbq and rally.   Prince Edward Island   Summerside: Members of UTE 90006 distributed the CLC’s Better Choice cards.

The PSAC Young Workers Committee is joining the St. John's Pride Party. We are seeking members to to join us on July 26 as we walk in the parade which leaves from St. John’s City Hall at 2 PM and finishes at Quidi Vidi Lake where we will be distributing cotton candy.  

HALIFAX, July 14, 2015 /CNW/ - The Public Service Alliance of Canada is today launching a nationwide campaign to remind Canadians about the impact of cuts to public services before they vote in the federal election. At the 2015 PSAC national convention, delegates directed the union to campaign and raise public awareness about the impact of cuts to public services by the Harper Conservatives.
