PSAC and PIPSC held a rally on June 6 against the cuts to public services. At that rally, money was collected in aid of the Community Food Sharing Association.

After concluding our collective agreement negotiations last August, the Employer has yet to fully implement the final agreement.  We had our final level grievance hearing on May 9 on this issue.

Negotiations for new contracts for PSAC’s five bargaining units in the federal public service will begin the week of July 7, 2014 when PSAC and Treasury Board exchange proposals.

Jeannie Baldwin was again re-elected for Regional Executive Vice President for the Atlantic during the region’s Convention last weekend.  Jeannie has held the PSAC Alliance Executive Committee position since 2004.

June 21 is National Aboriginal Day, a day to recognize and celebrate First Nations, Inuit and Métis people in Canada.  On this day we have many reasons to celebrate and also many reasons to fight. The Atlantic Region of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) supports all Aboriginal Peoples in their struggle for full access to all human rights and fundamental freedoms. We strongly believe that those freedoms include the right to preserve and strengthen their own political, economic, legal and cultural traditions and institutions.

MEDIA ADVISORY                                                                                                            June 18, 2014 PSAC members rally outside their workplace for 19 minutes SAINT JOHN, NB - Public Service Alliance of Canada members will be rallying for 19 minutes outside their workplace to focus on the importance of the next federal election set to take place on October 19 2015.
