Following the unprecedented tragedy that took place in Nova Scotia over the weekend, words cannot describe what many in Nova Scotia and across Canada are feeling. Our hearts go out to the families of the victims, first responders and law enforcement personnel, as well as all the residents of the affected communities. Your shock and pain are shared by many. As a union with thousands of members employed as front-line officers in law enforcement, our hearts go to the entire community as you deal with the shock and pain of this weekends’ horrific violence.

PSAC members in the Atlantic region highlighted the 4th anniversary of the Phoenix pay system and earned unprecedented media coverage. In Miramichi, members paid a respectful visit to the Member of Parliament for Miramichi – Grand Lake, Pat Finnigan. At the same time, approximately 75 members rallied at the main pay center in Miramichi. This demonstration was in no way directed at our PSAC/GSU members working at the Pay Center, to the contrary, this should have been seen as a show of support for the excellent work they are doing despite a system that is not working properly.

International Women's Day 2020 Together, PSAC women will continue to find ways to not only defend their rights but to challenge inequality and ensure all women and men benefit equally from better working conditions, better work/life balance and full respect for their human rights.  Here are some events that PEI members can come to show support:
