Report of the Provincial Director for Prince Edward Island, Jody LaPierre, February 2012 - September 2012

Below is a list of the events and activities I took part in since the last Atlantic Regional Council Meeting:  

• President of UVAE local 90001

• VP of the PEI Area Council

• Treasurer of the PEI Human Rights Committee

• Alternate PSAC rep for the PEI Federation of Labour

• Attended all Area Council meetings

• Attended all Human Rights meetings

• Conducted CBC radio interviews

• Conducted CBC TV interviews

• Conducted several local News paper interviews

• Have met with the Mayor, MLA’s, MP’s, Chamber of Commerce on

• job cuts and the effect they will have.

• Met with MP Sean Casey , Lawrence MacAuley, Wayne Easter, Gail Shae, Wayne Marston,

• Met with Veterans Affairs Critic Peter Stoffer

• Attended PSAC Labour Day Picnic

• Guest speaker at PSAC Day of Action in SummersidePE

• PSAC representative on the Government of Canada workplace charitable campaign

• Attended PSAC National Convention in Ottawa

• PSAC representative on PEI Economic Impact Assessment study which included several meetings and press interviews

• Three day Labour Relations course

• Met with senator Percy Downe

• Attended PIPSC Ralley

• Attended EI Forum

• Took part in 3 Atlantic Council teleconferences

• Member of the VAC Health and Safety Committee

• Attended EI Rally In Montague

• Attended National Day of action Ralley

• 1 day Respectful Workplace course

• Attended the CETA Round table meeting

• Two day WFA course

• Attended the Budget Watch

• Attended the CETA information session at the Delta Charlottetown Hotel
  

As you can see by the above activities, I have been very involved in my role as PSAC Provincial Director in representing PEI, and I will continue with the same effort and dedication here on out.
