The Finance Committee met on July 3-5, 2013 to prepare a Convention Budget and determine delegate subsidies for the 6th PSAC Atlantic Triennial Convention being held in Saint John, NB June 20-22, 2014.
The previous Convention budget along with the actual amounts paid were reviewed and used as a tool in determing the expected costs for establising the 2014 Convention budget document.
After the Convention Budget was determined, the remaining revenue aside for Convention would be utilised for delegate subisides. The subsidy is in place to offset costs for delegates to attend Convention. A significant amount of work was carried out to ensure the subsidies were evenly distributed based on amount of travel required by the delegate from their place of work. A teleconference was held shortly after the delegate subsidis were determined to review and approve the subsidy document. A subsidy request deadline has been established as April 11, 2014. After the deadline to apply, a review of subsidies will take place and any remaining subsidy funds will be reallocated amongst the delegates.
