The members of the PSAC Greater Moncton Human Rights Committee decided unanimously to do something special this year for the International Human Rights Day, which is celebrated on December 10th. All members of the Committee therefore donated their time to the two community kitchens in the Moncton area. They made a schedule and covered both kitchens.
All agree that the experience was a memorable one. The community kitchens serve approximately 450 lunches every day. Members of the Committee met other people who volunteer for those charities on a regular basis as well as others who, like them, were doing it for the first time. The needs are significant and the workforce limited, but the atmosphere is warm, the meals are of good quality, and the food is excellent. Thank you all and congratulations for a great initiative!
