MP Sean Casey meets to discuss job cuts

MP Sean Casey, meets with PSAC Members

On Friday, Feb 3/12, Sean Casey, MP for Hillsborough in PEI, attended a meeting with approximately 8 PSAC members at the PSAC office in Charlottetown to discuss job cuts on PEI, and specifically, the move of 12 AS (Compensation Advisor) jobs from PEIto the Miramichi in NB, the move of 28 EI Processing jobs from PEIto Nova Scotia, as well as the huge cuts of approximately 500 jobs to the Veterans' Affairs Canada office in Charlottetown.  The future impending loss of these jobs will have a huge impact on the economy of PEI, not to mention the communities in which these employees live and work every day.

Sean listened to the information our members provided, took notes, and committed to taking the issues to the Liberal caucus meetings in the Atlanticand National regions.
