The PEI Area Council met on October 26th for their AGM. Members from Parks, CEIU, UVAE and UTE Locals were represented.
Elections were held with the following results:
President: Dawn Hardy
Vice-President: Jody LaPierre
Secretary: Debi Buell
Treasurer: Heather Ford
The delegate to the PSAC Triennial Convention: Jody LaPierre
Vaughan Davies, President NAT 90023 provided an in-depth presentation on the serious concern around protecting Bargaining Unit Work.
Jody LaPierre, President, UVAE 90001, provided an update on the job cuts and media coverage.
Donna MacDonald, RVP and Laurie Bowers, member of CEIU 90153 discussed the political action plans they are involved in over recent cuts to the Montague office.
UTE member also shared that two employees from her local received Work Force Adjustment letters.
