PSAC DEDICATES BOARDROOM TO HONOUR ITS FOUNDING MEMBER J. CALBERT (CAL) BEST

On December 10th, International Human Rights Day, the Public Service Alliance of Canada honored the legacy of founding member, J. Calbert (Cal) Best (1926 – 2007).  Dr. Best was an African Nova Scotian human rights and labour activist from New Glasgow, Nova Scotia.  He was the son of the late Dr. Carrie Best and Albert Best.  He was co-founded and President of the Civil Service Association of Canada that later merged to become the Public Service Alliance of Canada.  The Halifax Regional Office Boardroom was dedicated in memory of J. Calbert (Cal) Best.

Dr. Best’s life is also the focus of a traveling exhibition by the Workers History Museum in Ottawa and includes a short documentary about his life entitled “Simply the Best”. 

The event was a huge success, historic and momentous for the Public Service Alliance of Canada.
