PSAC Members meet with Mayor of Charlottetown

Union Representatives met November 1st with Mayor Clifford Lee, MLA Richard Brown, 2 representatives from Sean Casey’s office and representatives from the business community to discuss job cuts.

Representatives for PSAC included Donna MacDonald, CEIU; Jody LaPierre and Debi Buell, UVAE, and Mary MacNeil, PSAC Regional Office.   Representatives from the PEI Federation of Labour and PIPSC were also in attendance. 

A coalition was formed to investigate the true number of cuts planned by the Federal Government.  The goal is to convince the Federal Government that job cuts is not the answer and to demonstrate the need is still their for the work that is being performed by Veterans Affairs and Service Canada employees.
