The Solidarity was strong at Thursday's rally for the striking workers at St. John's Airport. PSAC Atlantic REVP Jeannie Baldwin reminded the Airport Authority that "we bargain on our feet and not on our knees."
NLFL President Lana Payne thanked the workers for standing strong against concessions that would impact future generations of workers. FFAW President Earle McCurdy reminded the employer that the work these members perform is as valuable as the same work performed in other areas of the country. NAPE Secretaray-Treasurer Bert Blundon questioned why management here would pay themselves more than at other airports, yet expect the workers to be paid far less. The overwhelming generosity from donations received was greatly appreciated by the Local. The Grinch, aka Keith Collins, kept quiet during the event.
