Sisters and Brothers,
The Premier of Nova Scotia, Stephen McNeil, is attacking workers again! This time, he’s after teachers who are members of the Nova Scotia Teachers Union (NSTU).
Once again, our Premier is not playing by the rules nor is he respecting the process of collective bargaining. Premier Stephen McNeil will introduce special legislation to impose a collective agreement on teachers and making strike action illegal.
We must support members of NSTU who are fighting for better education for our students; the future leaders of this province and country. There are many ways we can help.
- Join a picket line;
- Write/call your MLA;
- Write/call the Education Minister, Karen Casey;
- Write/call to the Premier, Stephen McNeil;
- Send a letter of support to the NSTU;
- Speak to the law amendments committee to denounce Bill 75; and
- Share this information on social media.
We cannot sit by and do nothing. Our teachers and our students deserve better. Let’s tell Premier Stephen McNeil that he is failing this province.
In solidarity,
Colleen Hodder
A/Regional Executive Vice-President, PSAC-Atlantic
