Update from Regional Council Meeting (October 15-16, 2020)

Regional Council Directors met virtually on October 15-16 to conduct the Council business. Below are the main highlights of the meeting.

• Treaty Rights
  Regional Council Directors sent an email to their Member of Parliament (MP) and Bernadette Jordan, Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard. Regional Council also tasked the staff to develop an email letter writing campaign to support the work initiated by the Council Directors.
   
• New logo
  Colleen Coffey, Regional Executive Vice President, shared the exciting news that the region now has a brand new logo! New flags and other promotional items will be ordered. The unveiling of the logo is planned for a later date.
   
• Donation to Unifor members on strike in Newfoundland and Labrador
  PSAC’s Atlantic Region will be making a financial contribution of $500 to Unifor members employed by Dominion who are currently on strike.
   
• Council Video
  Regional Council Directors as well as other guests and staff members who were in attendance at the meeting took the opportunity to record a personalized message thanking bargaining team members for their commitment and dedication.
