Children munched on hotdogs, carried balloons and had their face painted during the kick off of the "We are All Affected" campaign in Cape Breton. Over 200 PSAC members and their children were joined by the Mayor, Councillors, District Labour Council, coalition partners and local citizens who are concerned about the affects of job loss in their community. Earlier that day, members volunteered at the Walk for Autism and distributed bottles of water featuring the label, "We Are All Affected", and distributed postcards and window stickers.

The St. John's Area Council held a lunchtime BBQ in Pleasantville yesterday. The event was a huge success !! There were approximately 150 people in attendance over the 2 hour period from 12:00 - 2:00 PM and they collected $100 and 3 boxes of food which was donated to the Community Food Sharing Association.

On Wednesday, June 13th at 5:30PM local time, while our MPs gather in Ottawa for a decisive showdown in Parliament, we’ll rally their home ridings, and communities across Canada, to call for 13 “hero” Conservative MPs to work together and stop the Bill, split it, and start over.

Almost 70 members from across the region attended the AtlanticSchoolheld from May 23rd to 27th, 2012in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.

The Professional Institute of the Public Service of Canada (PIPSC) Atlantic Region held a rally on June 1st in downtown Moncton to protest against the cuts in the public services. Speakers were: Debi Daviau (PIPSC), Jeannie Baldwin (PSAC), Hon Dominic LeBlanc & Hon Yvon Godin. Members attending the rally brought a jar of peanut butter for the Moncton Food Bank and Jeannie Baldwin, REVP Atlantic Region gave a donation to the Moncton Food Bank on behalf of the PSAC.
