Fifteen young workers gathered on May 22-23, 2012 in Antigonish, NS, to build their activist toolkits and lay the groundwork for young workers committees.
Over seventy PSAC members delivered affected letters today to Peter MacKay’s constituency office. The letter informed the minister that his services as a federal employee might no longer be needed. The reasons given included reckless spending and cuts to public services.Since the budget announcement, over 13,000 PSAC members have received affected letters, including 1124 at the Department of National Defence that MacKay oversees.
On the Victoria day weekend, Sunday May 20th, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada member Sarah Leonard and her family assisted with the distribution of the flyer regarding the loss of jobs and services in Parks Canada. Sarah and her family were active at both locations, Signal Hill and Cape Spear.

Members of various unions gathered with members of the public in PEI to voice their concerns
over job cuts and the scheduled implementation of the regressive HST. Speakers were concerned that fewer jobs and an unfair tax will create more hardships to many while the rich keep getting richer.
MP Peter Stoffer, a strong advocate for Veterans Rights and Services, met with UVAE Local 90001 Executive members to discuss the cuts to Veterans Affairs jobs and services.
