The St. John’s Regional Women’s Committee hosted another successful IWD luncheon with 221 attendees. The event included a petition signing for the #DonewaitingNL campaign to enact pay equity legislation provincially, red dress post cards signing, PSAC child care campaign information, there were red dresses hung around the room with an information piece explaining the significance. Two representatives from Safe Harbour Outreach Project (SHOP) were the guest speakers. They held a live auction and sold tickets on a lovely basket as well as 50/50 with the proceeds going to SHOP. There were plenty of prize giveaways, mostly donated by locals.
