The Atlantic Region will be hosting a conference for DCLs on November 26 and 27 at the Days Inn & Suites (formerly known as the Holiday Inn) in Moncton, NB.  
 
The PSAC will cover the costs for one (1) delegate per local.  Additional participants can attend based on space available, however, costs for additional participants will be the responsibility of the local. 
 

Chris Di Liberatore, President of NS Area Council1 presenting Geri Musqua-LeBlanc with a cheque in the amount of $500.00 to assist with her work in the Walking with Our Sisters initiative.  Walking with our Sisters is a Commemorative Art Installation for the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women of Canada and the USA.  The large collaborative art piece will be made available to the public through selected galleries and locations.  We are hoping (funding dependant) that it will be displayed in Halifax  January 14 – February 1, 2017, Mount Saint Vincent University Art Gallery.

The mandate of the Social Justice Fund (SJF) is to support initiatives in five priority areas:

1-Anti-poverty initatives in Canada;

2-Humanitarian assistance in Canada and around the world;

3-International labour development;

4-Worker-to-Worker exchange; and

5-Worker education.


In 2016, the SJF supported the following groups/projects in the Atlantic:

PSAC invites young workers from the four Atlantic Provinces to apply to attend a Young Workers Symposium at the Terra Nova Hospitality Home and Cottages in Port Blandford, Newfoundland and Labrador, from 6pm, Friday, November 4 to 1pm, Sunday, November 6, 2016 Port Blandford, Newfoundland and Labrador.
