Members of PSAC’s Parks bargaining team met in Ottawa from July 22-24 to discuss key issues and finalize the package of demands in preparation for negotiations with the employer.

All PSAC members are invited to join the PEI Federation of Labour on August 2nd to walk in the Pride parade. We will meet at 12:00 noon in the parking lot of the Sullivan building near Victoria Park in Charlottetown - look for the PSAC flag.

Conservative government continuing shortsighted cuts in St. John’s NL

July 24, 2014

ST. JOHN’S, NL – The department of National Defence served six work force adjustment letters to employees who work at CFS St. John’s in St. John’s, Newfoundland. 

K’JIPUKTUK (Halifax) -- The panel reviewing hydraulic fracturing in Nova Scotia has completed seven community information sessions to date across the province. During this review, the Nova Scotia Native Women’s Association and the Native Council of Nova Scotia have announced official opposition to fracking.  Dr. Wheeler has been clear that much is still unknown about the risks and benefits to Nova Scotians.  Given that:

 

•             All three political parties have stated that the existing moratorium will remain until fracking is proven to be safe;

As you know, the next federal election will be held on October 19, 2015. On the 19th of every month, we are asking our members to be creative in highlighting the number 19.
