The Greater Moncton Area Council held their elections of executive on October 28th and the following members are the new officers: Anne Fagan Wood (GSU), PresidentShanny Doucet (GSU), Vice PresidentAlan Slater (CHEA), TreasurerPhilip Lillies (UNE), Secretary Congratulations to the new executive!

29 Stewards participated in the N. B. Stewards retreat from October 13 to 16, 2011in Moncton.  While participating in the 3 days retreat, the stewards also had the opportunity to participate in the “occupy Moncton” activities and the Stand up take action against poverty challenge.

Through this three day workshop, shop stewards who are committed to membership representation will become familiar with social and political issues which impact the workplace.  Consult your Regional Office Education Schedule for details.

The Saint John Regional Women's Committee hosted a pancake breakfast on September 15, 2011.  Signing of the petition to Tony Clement - fight back campaign against cuts to the federal public services was done during this breakfast.

Following the Haïti earthquake of January 2010, members of the PSAC Greater Moncton Human Rights committee wanted to contribute in helping out the people in Haïti.

On August 17, approximately 200 PSAC members protested against the loss of 150 jobs of their Brothers and Sisters at the Federal Pensions Centre in Shediac.

Just one week after PSAC started a new round of negotiations with Parks Canada, PSAC members at the KouchibouguacNational Parkplantgated and partied to rally support. Members of the executive also engaged the visiting public, distributing postcards and first aid kits.

PSAC members and staff were present at the Moncton CUPW rally on June 21st to oppose the return to work legislation.
June 21, 2011 - 4:00am •
Some PSAC members were among the participants to this first annual celebration for the National Aboriginal Day.June 21st was proclaimed in 1996 by former Governor General of Canada Roméo Leblanc and years later the Greater Moncton will now have its annual celebration.
