We are in a historic moment in which Indigenous, Black, and racialized people around the world are leading mass movements to defend their humanity and are achieving dramatic changes so that they may live in freedom.
Our Area Councils and Regional Committees (Women’s, Human Rights and Young Workers) were faced with quite the challenge these past few months. How do you operate in the midst of a pandemic? Well, they certainly adapted and continued their important work! The Committee Success Stories is designed to highlight the successful work accomplished by our various committees in the Atlantic Region.

Sisters, Brothers and Friends,
On this National Public Service Week, I say thank you to all our members in the federal public service.
PSAC members have been on the frontlines of this pandemic, committed to delivering critical government services for Canadians everywhere. You went above and beyond and continue doing so in order to provide essential public services to Canadians during these difficult times.
The impacts of COVID-19 on the LGBTQ2+ members and our communities makes it a trying time. Many of us look forward every year to celebrate our achievements and fight for more equality. This year, we will have to do it differently, because we simply cannot cancel or skip pride.
At a series of ratification meetings held May 26 and 28, members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) employed by Serco at 5 Wing Goose Bay ratified their tentative agreement.
Let’s see if we got this right: there’s a global pandemic and various levels of government are urging the population to stay at home and whereas possible, to work from home in order to flatten the curve and protect our economy as much as possible. Thousands of public sector workers continue to show up to their workplace and some adapt and work from home as they are deemed essential service. Thousands more volunteer to transfer to a new position in order to deliver essential benefits created by the federal government.
