In joint-initiative planned by PSAC/UNE Local 90265, the Rocky Harbour PSAC Regional Womens’ Committee and the NL Western PSAC Area Council, members of the PSAC came out to “Stroll Strong for Child Care” on Thursday, September 19, 2019.  It was also Universal Children’s Day too and we did not want to lose this opportunity to advocate for quality, accessible and affordable child care.  Member’s of Parliament and Senators in Ottawa were also lobbied and we certainly wanted to add our voice to theirs!

Multiple Locals in St. John’s collected and donated items to the Women’s Shelter.  They were most grateful once again for the generosity of PSAC members.

The PSAC Atlantic Regional Women’s Conference will be held at the Canadian Forces Bases Gagetown in Oromocto, New Brunswick from October 4 – 6, 2019.

  The Atlantic Region of the Public Service Alliance of Canada is pleased to provide an opportunity for Indigenous members to learn how they can navigate the structures of the PSAC.

The Breaking the Silence (BTS) project is supported by the PSAC Social Justice Fund.  BTS engages members to deepen their understanding of Guatemala and to build solidarity with Mayan communities. Breaking the Silence https://www.tatacentre.ca/index.php/partnerships/bts (English only) is organizing a delegation to travel to Guatemala in 2019 to work with and learn from grass roots organizations empowering communities.

As your Director for LGBTQ2+(Pride) members on the PSAC Atlantic Council, I will soon be joining many PSAC members within the Atlantic Provinces and across Canada, and people around the world in recognizing the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia. I would like to invite you to join me on this day in celebrating our diversity and bringing attention to the fact that LGBTQ2+ rights are human rights.
