ST. JOHN’S, NL - The Public Service Alliance of Canada is disappointed that negotiations with St. John’s Airport failed Tuesday.  The union appreciates the efforts by Mayor Denis O’Keefe in bringing the parties back together to end a 100 day-old strike.  The PSAC negotiating team returned to the table hoping the employer was prepared to move on issues that would result in a settlement.

SYDNEY, NS – Public Service Allianceof Canada (PSAC) National Vice-President Chris Aylward and Union of Veterans Affairs Employees (UVAE) National President Yvan Thauvette will tour Veterans Affairs Canada’s Regional Office in Sydney Thursday to see first hand which services Canada’s veterans stand to lose when the office closes its doors in 2014.

DEERLAKE, NL – After just five days of negotiations, a tentative agreement was reached this morning between the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) and the Deer Lake Regional Airport Authority Inc.  PSAC is the bargaining agent for the 15 members of the Union of Canadian Transportation Employees (UCTE) Local 90945 who provide operational and technical services, including runway clearing, firefighting, electrical and mechanical maintenance of equipment, as well as administrative services, at the airport.
