Delegates to the NS Area Coucil1 attended a TroubleMakers Conference in Halifax recently. At the last Greater Moncton Human Rights committee meeting, members had the pleasure to welcome representatives of the Moncton Cavalier Riding Club, who came to talk about the work their therapeutic riding club does for people with disabilities.  This group receives some financial assistance from the United Way campaign therefore if your local would like to have someone come to make a presentation to better inform your members on their work, please do not hesitate to contact your PSAC regional representative, Monique Laplante from the Moncton PSAC regional office for more details.

Special thanks to various PSAC committees and our PSAC-Atlantic Director for GLBT members, Wayne Kelley, for having ensured a strong PSAC presence at various pride parades in the Atlantic Region.  This year, we participated in the following pride parades: Moncton, NB Halifax, Yarmouth and Amherst, Pictou County and Sydney, NS

As soon as PSAC members found out that Prime Minister Trudeau and his Cabinet were meeting in St. John's, NL, they got to work and organized a demo to highlight the many problems they face due to the Phoenix Pay System.  in less than 24 hours, they rented a bus, mobilized members and allies and organized a successful event. Different media outlets were on site to cover the event.  You can also view the complete photo album. ***** Media Scan Report:

PSAC members were invited to join the Greater Moncton Area Council, the Saint John and Vicinity Area Council, UNDE local 60303 & UGSW local 60550 in Fredericton and many labour friends to take part in the various Labour Day activities in New Brunswick. Great work everyone!  Thank you to all participants!

SJF Sponsorship program:  For Young Workers (18 – 35 years).   In addition to the subsidies provided to four young workers, the project is open to all PSAC members, who are able to cover their own expenses (see application for details). PSAC Social Justice Fund invites your members to participate in the next “Education In Action” project in Guatemala for 2 weeks in spring 2018.
