Members of the NS Area Council 1 (Bill Kroeger, Glenn McMullin, Bill and Helen Zebedee, Rhonda Doyle-LeBlanc, Kelly Bush, Drake Clarke and Chris Di Liberatore) organized an information booth at the local farmers market to raise awareness on the Thirsty for Justice campaign.

On December 17 1999, the United Nations General Assembly endorsed the recommendation made by the World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth that August 12 be declared International Youth Day. International Youth Day 2017 is dedicated to celebrating young people’s contributions to conflict prevention and transformation as well as inclusion, social justice, and sustainable peace.

Sisters and Brothers, First and foremost, let me express my deepest gratitude to the delegates who elected me as Regional Executive Vice-President (REVP) for PSAC’s Atlantic Region.  I’m deeply honored and I commit to give my 100% on a daily basis.  I will do my best to represent you and fight on your behalf.

With over 270 delegates, 6 guests and 25 observers, the PSAC-Atlantic Triennial Regional Convention was poised to be a successful event.  Delegates elected members to the Regional Council, the governing body between conventions, and Sister Colleen Hodder was elected as Regional Executive Vice-President (REVP). The participants raised over $25,000 for members of the Halifax Typographical Union who are on strike because their employer, the Halifax based Chronicle Herald, is trying to bust the union.
