Updates

My heart goes out to the families and loved ones of those killed or injured in the brutal attack at Pulse Nightclub, a gay bar in Orlando Florida. As a member of the GLBT community, I speak for myself and my partner, and offer our sincere condolences for those killed and wish a speedy recovery to those injured.   In solidarity, Wayne Kelley Director for GLBT Members, PSAC-Atlantic 

There will be information meetings on the Memorandum of Settlement and Ratification Votes in Nova Scotia on May 18th in Halifax and May 19th in Sydney.  Madonna Gardiner, Bargaining Team Member, will be in attendance.  These meetings are open to all employees in the Bargaining UInit.  See posters attached for more information on times and locations.

A big thank you to PSAC members who lobbied their local MP to repeal sections of Bill C-4 (2013) that restrict collective bargaining rights and put the health and safety of our members at risk. We met with the following MPs: Prince Edward Island Sean Casey, Charlottetown Lawrence MacAulay, Cardigan Wayne Easter, Malpeque Robert Morrissey, Egmont

The PSAC, other labour unions, the Nova Scotia Federation of Labour, the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, the Ecology Action Centre, ACORN, the Canadian Federation of Students,  and other community groups gathered in the Cal Best Boardroom  to watch and comment on the first budget from this Liberal government. 

Sisters and Brothers,   We will be organizing a webinar to provide you with an update on Treasury Board Bargaining with special guests: Marc Blanchard, bargaining team member (TC Group), Kelly Bush, bargaining team member (PA Group) and myself, Jeannie Baldwin, Regional Executive Vice-President of PSAC-Atlantic.   The webinar will also give you the opportunity to ask questions and provide your feedback to the bargaining team members.
