ST. JOHN’S, NL – After four days of unsuccessful talks facilitated by a federal mediator, workers at St. John’s International Airport are backing up their 100% strike mandate.  PSAC, the bargaining agent for (UCTE) Local 90916, served the St. John’s International Airport Authority the required 72 hours notice to strike on Friday. Picket lines went up at the airport 5:00am this morning.

ST. JOHN’S, NL – After a frustrating day of talks facilitated by a federal mediator, the bargaining agent for the Union of Canadian Transportation Employees (UCTE) Local 90916 served the St. John’s International Airport Authority 72 hours notice of strike action at 5:26pm Friday.  Members are prepared to set up picket lines at 5:00am, Tuesday, September 11. 

ST. JOHN’S, NL - Members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada’s Union of Canadian Transportation Employees (UCTE) Local 90916 who work at the St. John’s International Airport delivered a 100% mandate in favour of strike action at a meeting Thursday evening.

If you travel through New Brunswick you might notice some FB members at customs ports wearing green shoelaces.  They are wearing them in support to their bargaining team.
FB members are still without a contract and are currently waiting for a Public Interest Commission (PIC) dates. 

“I am affected by these cuts because the people we deal with as photographers are affected. We do business with a lot of government agencies. Their availability decreases as public servants seem to be taking on larger work loads and are under more and more pressure. We offer passport photo services and these applications go through an ever shrinking Passport Canada, making it harder for my customers to get the services they need.”
