Members of the recently formed GMYWC are now in full recruitment mode.  They held their first information booth at one of the Federal building in Moncton on May 8th to meet young PSAC members.  This committee is open to all PSAC members who are 35 or under and who work in the Greater Moncton area.

This year Isabelle Forest and Charline Caissie from the Greater Moncton Area Council attended the ceremony organized by the Moncton District Labour Council to lay a wreath in memory of the workers who have lost their lives or suffered injury or illness on the job.  

 

May is Asian Heritage month, a month when we celebrate the contributions workers from East Asia, South Asia, Central Asia and Southeast Asia have made to our communities and to our union.  This month we also reflect on the sacrifices generations of Asians Canadians have made in this country and the adversity they have overcome.  Celebrations will take place during the month of May, as will discussion and debate around finding collective solutions to end systemic racism.

Agriculture Union local 90004 in partnership with the Public Service Alliance of Canada – Atlantic Region, purchased a 1060 lb 4-H steer at the 68th Annual PEI Easter Beef Sale that was held on March 29, 2019.

Threads of Life provides programs for families affected by life-altering workplace injuries, illnesses, and deaths, and help increase awareness of workplace health and safety. In May, in the Atlantic, « Steps for Life » walks will be held in the Saint John, Charlottetown, Halifax, St. John’s, and Corner Brook.  PSAC Atlantic encourages members to register a team in this important event.
