ST. JOHN’S, NL – Members of the Lecturers’ Union of Memorial University have ratified a new collective agreement after a prolonged round of bargaining which began in April 2017.  LUMUN represents two bargaining units consisting of roughly 330 per-course instructors – academic workers who teach up to two courses per semester both in-class and by distance - and 95 postdoctoral fellows.   

This International Women’s Day, workers and women are calling on all federal political parties to commit to a plan for affordable, high-quality child care ahead of the federal election.

It has been nearly 50 years since the report of the Royal Commission on the Status of Women called for a universal child care program to help achieve economic equality for women. In 2019, women and workers need every party to be a #ChildCareChampion

Charlottetown, PEI - On the three-year anniversary of the launch of the Phoenix pay system members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) in Charlottetown are taking to the streets to demand respect from their employer, this time at the bargaining table. Currently, PSAC is in bargaining with Treasury Board, the Canada Revenue Agency and Parks Canada and is finding the employer unprepared for meaningful negotiations.  Negotiations with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency start this week.  Over 3000 PSAC members live and work on PEI. 

UTE Local 60005 in Saint John, NB held a demonstration in front of their building on February 14th (Valentine’s Day) asking CRA and the Prime Minister to show their hearts at the bargaining table.

SYDNEY, NS – On February 6, 2019, members of the Union of Canadian Transportation Employees (UCTE) Local 80807, a Component of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC), ratified a new Collective Agreement.
