The annual International Women’s Day event of the PSAC that takes place in the Halifax Regional Municipality on March 8th, will not be held this year in March due to lack of a suitable and large enough space to hold the event.

However, keep your calendar open as we are planning to have a celebration of women’s achievements in October which is Women’s History Month in Canada.

More information will follow in the coming months.

In solidarity,

Janice Grant

On February 7, members of the Union of National Defence Employees (UNDE) local 90120, a Component of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC), who are employed by IMP Group International Inc. (IMP) will be organizing a demo in front of the company’s head office.  The purpose of the demo is to put pressure on decision makers to bring significant improvements at the bargaining table.

This February, we celebrate Black History / African Heritage Month. The contributions made to society by our Brothers and Sisters from the Black/African communities have made our country a better place to live.  Not only have they shaped our nation, they have shaped our own Union as dedicated members and committed staff members. We honour all of those who contributed to PSAC’s success, such as Brother Cal Best. Our boardroom in the Halifax Regional Office is dedicated in his name to remind us every day of the important contribution made by our racially visible members.

Mobilization happens in different ways.  A recent meeting of UNDE Dockyard Local 80405 discussed Collective bargaining along with SV pay study.

Public Service Alliance of Canada CEIU members took part in the Halifax Typographical Workers demonstration on Monday In Bridgewater.
