Education program

The PSAC is proud to offer its members a union education program that ranks among the best and most comprehensive within the Canadian labour movement. Our various courses provide members with learning opportunities to develop knowledge, skills, and personal confidence. Union education encourages participation and promotes mutual respect and understanding between members and the union leadership. A trained membership is an active membership and active members build a strong union.

All training is virtual until further notice! For a list of webinars and online workshops we are offering in the meantime, please click here***

On behalf of the Atlantic Regional Council and the Council’s Education Committee, I’m thrilled to announce that we are now accepting applications for the much anticipated 2018 PSAC Atlantic School! The Atlantic School brings together union activists from the four Atlantic Provinces with a foundation in union education to advance their skills in the company of the region’s most activated members.  The school’s in-residence program is tailored to deliver advanced courses in both official languages, while immersing participants in union culture.

PSAC’s Atlantic Region is in the process of developing a plan that will shape our Education Program for the next three years, and we would love your help.  We are conducting a short online survey open to all PSAC members, whether or not you have taken a PSAC training course.  The survey takes only 10 minutes and will help ensure that our members receive the courses you require in the format that best fits your needs.  Anyone who takes the survey will be entered into a draw to win a Union Gift Pack full of locally made goods and essentials for being a union activist.

The PSAC education team is preparing to revise the Talking Union Basics (TUB) course.  This course is often the first point of entry into PSAC union education.  If you are a graduate of this course, we would ask that you complete the following survey, which should take about 15 minutes. The information gathered will provide guidance for the revision of TUB.  Here is the survey.

This is to advise you that PSAC Atlantic will be organizing our own PSAC-Atlantic Regional School this Fall. Initially, we had planned to combine our school with the CLC Workers Summit, however, in order to achieve the best results for our members in this Region, we decided to proceed with our own school.
