I would like to take this time to celebrate our diversity and bring attention to LGBTQ2+ rights as human rights.

PSAC’s Atlantic Region is in the process of developing a plan that will shape our Education Program for the next three years, and we would love your help.  We are conducting a short online survey open to all PSAC members, whether or not you have taken a PSAC training course.  The survey takes only 10 minutes and will help ensure that our members receive the courses you require in the format that best fits your needs.  Anyone who takes the survey will be entered into a draw to win a Union Gift Pack full of locally made goods and essentials for being a union activist.

Sisters and Brothers,   On April 28, the National Day of Mourning, we remember all those who have been killed or injured on the job.  In addition, this year we are focusing on harassment and violence in the workplace. Many area councils have already made arrangements to lay a wreath at their community event on behalf of our union. I encourage you all to attend an event near you.  There are various events organized in New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador. (See event listing below.)

Members of the PSAC GMHR recently visited the facilities of the Cavalier Riding Club, a Therapeutic Horse Riding Club in the Moncton area for the kids and adults with a disability.  Following their visit, the committee presented a donation to the club that will provide for a less fortunate kid with disabilities the opportunity to benefit from 4 free lessons.    Benefits from this type of therapy has proven to be very valuable for people with all kinds of disabilities.

Sisters and Brothers, This year, we encourage our members to participate in the events being organized around NPSW. We want our members to be recognized for the important work that they do for Canadians. Activities during National Public Service week are one small form of recognition. Of course, we also want our members' work recognized with correct and on time pay; better benefits and safe and decent working conditions.
