The PSAC Greater Moncton area council members participated in the Anti Poo Rally organized by the Moncton and District labour council on September 8th. They were ready to share their message with the general public to show them how some decisions made by this current government are affecting everyone.

On Friday September 13th, 74 of the 88 employees at Service Canada’scall centre in Bathurst, NB, learned their hours of work are being reduced to part-time. 26 of the 42 workers in a call centre in St. John’s, NL, got the same bad news. The reason everyone was given for such a drastic reduction? Insufficient funding.

Members of the PSAC/STUSAU local 60701 (St Thomas University) are now at the conciliation stage in the bargaining of their first collective agreement. They had a mobilization BBQ on August 27th thanking their members for their support so far and to show the Employer the work is not over yet! Solidarity for ever...all the way!!

PSAC members were joined by Jeannie Baldwin, PSAC Atlantic REVP and some members from the TG Moncton in the Moncton Pride parade on August 24th, 2013.
The River of Pride Moncton are doing excellent work in the organizing of activities each year. This year, the parade was on the Saturday instead of the Sunday as usual and it was more family oriented.

Over 100 unionized and non unionized workers, Anglophones, Francophones, Acadians and Aboriginal people were waiting to welcome Stephen Harper to Moncton on August 8 while he was the special guest at a fund raising BBQ organized by the Moncton-Riverview-Dieppe riding association.
