I am in shock. Disappointed, disgusted, shocked. I have just read the CBC News article on members of law enforcement agencies of all types dressing in what can only be described as racist costumes, and I cannot for the life of me comprehend how this was allowed to happen. To make matters worse, these photos were not leaked or obtained from a private social media account; they were published with pride by NL Law Enforcement Torch Run!

As soon as PSAC members found out that Prime Minister Trudeau and his Cabinet were meeting in St. John's, NL, they got to work and organized a demo to highlight the many problems they face due to the Phoenix Pay System.  in less than 24 hours, they rented a bus, mobilized members and allies and organized a successful event. Different media outlets were on site to cover the event.  You can also view the complete photo album. ***** Media Scan Report:

SJF Sponsorship program:  For Young Workers (18 – 35 years).   In addition to the subsidies provided to four young workers, the project is open to all PSAC members, who are able to cover their own expenses (see application for details). PSAC Social Justice Fund invites your members to participate in the next “Education In Action” project in Guatemala for 2 weeks in spring 2018.

On December 17 1999, the United Nations General Assembly endorsed the recommendation made by the World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth that August 12 be declared International Youth Day. International Youth Day 2017 is dedicated to celebrating young people’s contributions to conflict prevention and transformation as well as inclusion, social justice, and sustainable peace.
