Your UCTE (Local 90915) bargaining team met with your Employer (St. John’s Port Authority) July 11-13, 2017, with the assistance of a Federal Mediation and Conciliation Services appointed conciliation officer. Your bargaining team and the Employer were able to sign-off on some non-monetary items. Your employers Marriage Leave and severance pay concessions remain on the table, despite the Union’s position that we will not engage in concessionary bargaining.

This award is presented to members who have provided exemplary service or have been role models and mentors for our members.  The recipients were presented with their award at our Regional Convention. Congratulations to the recipients:   Jill Power, UCTE Local 90940 She’s been working for the federal government for 10 years and have been a proud PSAC activist for 9 of those years and she’s been a mentor to the members of her local and region. With over 270 delegates, 6 guests and 25 observers, the PSAC-Atlantic Triennial Regional Convention was poised to be a successful event.  Delegates elected members to the Regional Council, the governing body between conventions, and Sister Colleen Hodder was elected as Regional Executive Vice-President (REVP). The participants raised over $25,000 for members of the Halifax Typographical Union who are on strike because their employer, the Halifax based Chronicle Herald, is trying to bust the union.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 23, 2017 Members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada Rally to Denounce the Phoenix Pay System SAINT JOHN, NB – Members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) who are meeting at the Saint John Trade and Convention Centre in Saint John, NB for their 7th Triennial PSAC-Atlantic Regional Convention will be organizing a march followed by a demo to demonstrate their frustrations in regards to the Phoenix Pay System.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 15, 2017 Federal Government Employees Rally Asking the Government to Fix the Phoenix Pay System CORNER BROOK, NL – Members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) employed by the Government of Canada will be boycotting National Public Service Week (NPSW) and asking the government to fix the Phoenix Pay System. The NPSW started Sunday and will run until the 17th.
