PSAC-Atlantic Regional Council ELECTED The members of the Atlantic Regional Council are elected geographically (NS, NB, NL, PE) and/or by constituency (Equity Group, non-Treasury Board, etc.) at PSAC-Atlantic’s Triennial Convention.  All Council members are assigned to work with Committees of the Council.  It is in the balance of these two functions that Council members define their roles and responsibilities.

The SJYWC raised $700 in support of the Ronald McDonald House for the Spare Some Love annual bowling fundraiser.  8 young workers attended. The four young workers on the SJYWC team were Brian Gallant (UTE 90001), Kayode Oluwadairo (TAUMUN), Leanne Moss (UNE 99242), Shad Rahman (TAUMUN).  CEIU local 90113 also submitted a team consisting of Allison Doyle, Karla White, Melissa Thomas and Melissa White. Thank you to PSAC Atlantic and to all of you who donated to support this great cause.

Support UNDE members working for Serco in Goose Bay NL

Despite getting $15 million more for the next two years from the Department of National Defense for its contract to operate and maintain CFB Goose Bay, Serco is imposing new working conditions that will drastically affect the lives of the 240 people who work there. Single parents are being forced to change shifts. There have been wage cuts. And layoffs. Send an email to Serco site manager Natasha McLean to tell her you stand in solidarity with Serco workers at CFB Goose Bay. Let her know you want her to work with their union to restore a healthy work environment.

Dear Sisters and Brothers, Although we need to celebrate the many achievements made towards equality, there remains a lot of work.  To this day, women are being denied equal pay for equal work and they are subject to discrimination and threats when they hold positions of power.  We can look in our own country where Alberta Premier Rachel Notley faces threats on a regular basis – because she’s a woman. Regardless of political affiliation, religious belief or even sexual orientation, women should be treated equally, period! Take action
