This is the official call for nominations for the positions of Regional Council for the PSAC Atlantic. Elections for these positions will be held at the Atlantic Regional Convention in Saint John, New Brunswick, June 23 to 25, 2017.

Federal Government Employees Rally Asking the Government to Fix the Phoenix Pay System
HALIFAX, NS – Members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) employed by the Government of Canada will be boycotting National Public Service Week (NPSW) and asking the government to fix the Phoenix Pay System. The NPSW started Sunday and will run until the 17th.

18 activists crowded the Cal Best boardroom Monday June 5th for the June general meeting.
While Phoenix was very much a topic of discussion, Atlantic Convention, National Public Service Week, National Aboriginal Day activities, an area Council social, Pride events, Labour day and other events and actions were discussed. Thanks to all for the great turn-out.

As your Director for GLBT members on the PSAC-Atlantic Regional Council, I will soon be joining many PSAC members across Canada and people around the world to recognize the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia.
On May 17, 1990, the World Health Assembly of the World Health Organization approved the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD-10) which no longer listed homosexuality as a diagnosis.

To honour our Sisters and Brothers who have passed away, we have a tradition in which we hold a moment of silence during our Convention.
I invite you to send to my office the names of PSAC Atlantic region members who have passed away since our last Regional Convention in June 2014.

The PSAC Cape Breton Regional Municipality Area Council laid a wreath to recognize brothers and sisters who were killed or injured on the job at the April 28th Day of Mourning ceremonies in Sydney. Laying the wreath on behalf of President, Br Steve Purcell was Br Brent Duff joined by Br Michael Morrison.
