A tentative agreement was reached late Monday, July 8, 2013, between PSAC and the St. John’s International Airport Authority.

The Public Service Alliance of Canada extends its solidarity to the vast numbers of Albertans, including members of the PSAC, who have suffered losses during the recent flooding in Southern Alberta.  During a visit to Calgary last weekend, I witnessed the devastating impact of the floods on our members, their families and the communities. This is by far one of the most serious disasters to hit Canada in many years and PSAC is determined to work with all of our members and other labour organizations to coordinate a united response.

It’s become a recurrent pattern for the Conservative government: when facing internal scandal, attack public workers.

ST. JOHN’S  – The Public Service Alliance of Canada welcomes federal Minister of Labour Lisa Raitt’s initiative for proposing non-binding recommendations.  Clearly the Minister recognizes that a negotiated settlement is possible.  PSAC has offered clear relief to the employer’s concessionary demands. The union continues to be willing and available to reach a fair and reasonable settlement.
