Transgender Day of Remembrance started as a vigil in 1999 to commemorate the death of Rita Hester, a transgender woman killed in 1998. Rita Hester was a highly vocal and visible member of the Trans community in Boston Massachusetts. Violence against transgender and gender non-conforming people, particularly Black and Brown transgender women, is at an all-time epidemic proportion. While this day is a day of mourning and remembrance, it is also a day to reflect on contributions to the Transgender community and the power of their survival.

Save the date!  On Wednesday November 18, 2020, at 6:30 PM, the PSAC Greater Moncton Regional Women's Committee is having their AGM.  See poster attached for more information.

Please find attached the invitation for the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the PSAC Human Rights committee to be held on Wednesday, December 2nd, 2020. The PSAC Greater Moncton Young workers Committee, Women's Committee, Human Rights Committee and the Area Council are all coming together to work on three different projects to make a difference for the less fortunate people of our region.  The Pandemic and the winter coming are certainly not easy for some of them and we are hoping to do a small difference.

Regional Council Directors met virtually on October 15-16 to conduct the Council business. Below are the main highlights of the meeting.

On October 27th, 2020, the Greater Moncton Regional Women's Committee is having a meeting via skype.  See poster for more information and how to join the meeting.
